Wealth or Riches: A New Perspective

Photos by: #Learnedman “Just A Saturday Morning”

A while back, I came across a striking fact—financial advisors often set the bar at $5 million to $10 million for 'very high net worth,' and for the coveted 'ultra-high net worth' status, the threshold climbs to $30 million or more. But is this really how we should define wealth or riches?

Let’s take a moment to dive deeper into the essence of true wealth.

I’m reminded of a fond memory when my son, in his innocent youth, truly believed we were wealthy because, back in the day, the 'dollar' and '99 cents' stores sold items at those exact prices. Taking him there as a little one and letting him pick out treasures brought a sense of joy and fulfillment that transcended any financial figure. It was a simple, yet profound, kind of wealth. (They are the $1.25 plus stores now!) lol

This memory leads me to a broader realization: wealth isn't just about the size of your bank account. It’s about the richness of your life experiences, the depth of your relationships, and the well-being of your body and mind. True wealth is far more complex and nuanced than mere monetary riches.

Let’s explore three essential pillars of genuine wealth:

1. Happiness: At its core, true wealth begins with contentment. It's about finding joy in the present moment and appreciating life's simple pleasures. Whether it’s laughing with loved ones, soaking in the beauty of a sunrise, or immersing yourself in a hobby you love, these moments of happiness are priceless.

2. Wellness: There's truth in the saying, "Health is wealth." Our physical and mental well-being are invaluable assets that money can’t buy. Taking care of ourselves and those we love, nurturing our bodies, and maintaining mental balance are the bedrock of a wealthy life. Without health, even the greatest financial fortune is hollow.

3. A Healthy Life: Living a healthy life means more than just physical fitness. It’s about achieving balance and harmony in all aspects of life. It’s about building meaningful relationships, pursuing personal growth.

In the end, while financial prosperity is a part of the equation, it’s just one piece of a much larger puzzle. True wealth is holistic. It encompasses the richness of our experiences, the love we share, and the vitality of our mind and body. It’s not something that can be fully captured by a number on a bank statement.

So, as we navigate this journey called life, let’s strive to keep things simple. Let’s stay focused on what truly matters—remaining #Positive, #Plugged, and #Present. After all, wealth is not just about having more; it’s about being more.
