Non-Negotiable!

Updated: Nov 7, 2022

Grant me this opportunity to share my three (3) guiding Non-Negotiable Principles. And - as long as God keeps me - I am committed to not allowing any weapon that forms against these principles to prosper! Trust me weapons will form. Period!

This will be brief, purposeful and I remain optimistic the world will benefit from these principles.

People that know me (especially family, friends, associates & colleagues) are aware that I'm finally among the social media platforms.  Recently made it to 1 year!

One specific platform -  is TikTok.  There, I am Learnedman aka #LearnedMan with over 25,000K followers. Hundreds of videos that have attracted millions of views.  Why do I share this? Well..

My platform is branded by: Positivity & Smiles. I receive lots of questions, feedback, engagement and I am learning & growing during this journey!  I'm also exposed to much. Therefore, having Non-Negotiable Principles is paramount.

Let's roll the clip: 1. Consistency. 2. How You Treat People. 3. Empathy. Note: I share the three (3) Illustrations delineated below - as examples but you must apply 'You' as I applied "Me".

Consistency:

At 19 years old, I learned from an amazing person - Edward J. Marko, Esquire,- (Rest In Peace) that it is important to be consistent. Consistently Wrong or Consistently Right.  Mr. Marko shared that he could defend consistency but not inconsistency. He was speaking to case studies when people did things differently and at different times, which was an indication they new right from wrong.

He shared this with me at the start of my career. I’ve  practiced and shared this foundation my entire career & adulthood. Powerful piece of wisdom. Be consistent. This way people know who you are and certainly you will know who they are. Win-Win. Period!

How You Treat People:

This one goes out to the amazing Maya Angelou. I learned this just after 21 years old. You probably heard it! "They May Forget What You Said, But They Will Never Forget How You Made Them Feel!  This is easy...Treat people right consistently! PERIOD!!

Empathy:

Understanding Empathy. Having Empathy And application of Empathy & Sympathy. Here's my practice.  My mom died when I was 18. Young I know. Since, I've been able to express empathy towards someone that experiences a loss of a mother.  Up until my dad passed - over 8 years ago - it was sympathy, I expressed to someone who experienced a loss of a father. Don't miss this!  Let me quote - somebody who quoted me as I expressed this last week:

"empathy and sympathy are two traits that can help you relate to others and understand other perspectives. While these two terms are often used interchangeably, there are key differences. Whereas sympathy is the ability to feel caring and supportive of another  situation, empathy is the ability to recognize and share in another’s emotion."

As I close, have you noticed - You possess the power to speak life over death into young people. They are watching. Mental Health is real. Practice your consistency - by treating people right - act accordingly knowing when you can empathize and sympathize.

These three are Non-negotiable. Period!

That's it!

Just want to keep this thing called #life - SIMPLE!  Remember to stay #Positive, #Plugged and #Present
