Yes! You read that correctly. Go! Set. Ready.
For this nugget - think about how a knee-jerk reflex differs from a thoughtful response. Granted both are subjective. And both serve their purposes. However - I tend to believe that knee-jerk responses are better sverved in horror movies. I digress.
I was chatting a few days ago with two special people. Our conversations tend to lean mainly 2wards - building each other up & "iron sharpens iron”. In our most recent huddle, it was discussed: “Go. Set. Ready!” & “Shoot Focus Aim!”. I told them - standby that’s the next blog and here we are.
Yes it should be - Ready. Set. Go! However - I’ve witnessed and heard lots of Go! Set. Ready. We need to challenge that behavior.
Take for example - there's a saying that bees do not spend time explaining themselves to flies that honey is better than $hit.
You see - You owe no one - no explanation for your decisions, goals, attributes, hustles, struggles except yourself. Trying to explain yourself to someone that doesn’t care is a waste of time and energy. Redirect that energy into your growth. Awareness. Family. Career. You name it!
Ready. Set. Go! is a shortened version of take your mark, get set, go! that is also used to start a competition. Warm up at a leadership conference. Icebreaker. Street racing. You get it!
Imagine this. You woke up in the morning. You just pressed go. No ready. No set. But just go!
Ummm. Some of you would be naked.. Sour breath. No shoes. Possibly bewildered without your coffee. Just unable to function. This is no different than Shoot!! Focus. Aim. That’s backwards. I’m sure you get my drift. Aim. Focus. Then Shoot. That works wonders - like in B-Ball!
Ideally - you should level set and take it from 1. Ready. 2. Set. Then 3. Go!
Don’t worry about having to slow down a decision. A relationship. Work-related stuff. Mental health/wellness. Take the time to ready yourself prior to getting set and then going.
Don’t overthink! Don’t worry about what they may think. Focus on you! Keep the end in mind. Doesn't matter how you start. It matters how you end. Heck. I was homeless before.
That’s it! Just want to keep this thing called #life - SIMPLE! Remember to stay #Positive, #Plugged and #Present.
