Today, during my live platform, I shared the Word of the Day: a cappella. It’s a term usually associated with music performed without any instrumental backing, where the pure voice stands as the sole source of sound and rhythm. But as I thought about it more deeply, it became clear that a cappella goes beyond just music—it’s a metaphor for life, for leadership, and for self-expression.

In life, we’re often surrounded by external “instruments”—voices that shape us, ideas that steer us, influences that make their way into our thinking and actions. And yes, there are moments when it’s necessary to listen, to be guided by those sounds, to let music—or the voices of others—carry us. But there are also times when we’re called to step forward and share something uniquely ours, unaccompanied by the noise around us. In those moments, it’s just us: our voice, our truth, our authenticity.
When we move a cappella, we step away from any external beat or harmony; we are guided by our own rhythm, not influenced by the sway of instruments or the force of another’s tempo. It’s a choice to be fully present, to strip away the additions and enhancements, and allow our unfiltered selves to be seen and heard. It’s not always easy to do, especially when it feels like everyone else has a soundtrack playing in the background. But when we choose to be authentic, to speak and act without embellishment, there’s a rare power in that.
This pure, unaccompanied voice represents our transparency and truth. It reminds us that we don’t need a computerized process, a curated influence, or a preset standard to validate us. Validation is internal, built on self-acceptance and inner confidence. When we operate a cappella, we’re saying to the world: Here I am, without the need for amplification. I am enough. Forreal!
So, let’s find strength in our own voices. Let’s allow our thoughts, words, and actions to flow naturally, without needing to follow someone else’s beat. When we go a cappella, we’re reminded that our voice, alone, can be powerful enough to influence and inspire others.
After all, the most authentic melodies come from within. And when we sing or speak a cappella, we own it—our words, our impact, our truth.
I want to keep this thing called #life - SIMPLE! Remember to stay #Positive, #Plugged and #Present. #Learnedman 'Smiles R Contagious'
